UTC Fire and Security acquires GE Security and immediately begins to rejuvenate the entire security platform under Interlogix, a division of UTC Fire and Security.

GE Security for many years acquired different elements of security, surveillance and access control products from various companies refining those existing platforms and keeping quality standards high. But that was not enough for UTC Fire and Security they saw an opportunity to take the proven product lines with high quality standards and catapult it into the next generation. UTC Fire and Security purchased the entire division of GE Security. Although GE did a very good job keeping a stable high quality product line moving in the security industry, they still had focus in so many other areas of industry it took away for the security platforms ability to develop new technologies, breaking the old rules. UTC Fire and Security has total commitment to the security industry and has reformed “Interlogix” to be the new age of security, surveillance and access control systems. UTC paid $1.82 billion for the GE Security division then immediately invested in the “Interlogix” division to assure the divisions success in bringing new advanced systems to the industry with focus on the ever changing future needs of the industry.
